My Biography

Director – Arete Galanis, M.S.Ed., LCSW, ATAS

Education:
I hold a double Masters degree in early childhood general and special education, and clinical social work from Touro College and New York University. I hold a Bachelors in psychology from Queens College. I am a trained psychotherapist from New York University School of Medicine, where I have received extensive training in child development and adult psychotherapy.

Employment History:
I have served as a teacher and director of my daycare for eleven years.
I have worked as a social worker and psychotherapist for eight years in hospital, school and clinic settings both with children, adults and families. I have developed curriculum, taught and supervised early childhood classes for eleven years. I am still in private practice part time.

Personal experience:
I am a wife and mother of three children. My goals are to remain in daycare as a director and educator, and to continue to serve my community as a social worker and psychotherapist.
